POSITION SUMMARY:
Independently applies standard field surveying techniques, procedures, and criteria, in the collection of field surveying data for projects of moderate complexity. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and is reviewed for application of sound judgment. Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigation, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Must have demonstrated competence with all company owned surveying equipment. May be assisted by engineers or technicians. May be responsible for all surveying data collection for a project.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
5 years previous field surveying experience
Demonstrated capability in mathematics and trigonometry.
Minimal Computer Literacy in the use of laptops and Surveying Data Collectors.
Capable of lifting moderate weights to 80 lbs.
Capable of walking long distances of up to several miles
Capable of working in inclement weather.
Capable in the operation of UTV’s, ATV’s, and small boats.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Collects field surveying data
2. Operates and maintains a wide variety of field surveying equipment including GPS, Total Stations, Levels, chains, etc…
3. Provides independent calculations of field surveying data.
4. Makes independent judgments concerning data collection needs associated with project needs.
5. Interacts with other firm professionals to ensure project data collection needs are being realized.
POSITION SPECIALIZATION:
1. Preference given to candidates with proven experience in the Party Chief role and who demonstrate a wide range of experience in the delivery of design and construction engineering services.
2. Ability to travel and work in remote locations is of paramount importance.
