Job Description
SUMMARY
Under limited guidance of more senior personnel, performs engineering and design work to support sales orders and product improvement projects. As an engineer, perform engineering and design work, with limited direction from more senior engineers and department management, in making adaptations and modifications to assigned product in order to meet specification requirement and meet the customers need. Responsible for design integrity and manufacturability requirements as it pertains to the assigned products
Completes assigned activities under the direction of the Delivery Manager, Project manager and other senior staff members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Adheres to all company and corporate policies; Advises project engineers, project managers and/ or other managers on project status.
2. Reviewing all applicable job data, including POs, project plans, specs, to determine characteristics of order and establish engineering objectives. Providing comments when applicable.
3. Prepares layouts, detailed drawings, calculations, specifications and instructions necessary for project success, with limited supervision.
4. Performs general engineering analysis with limited supervision.
5. May manage the technical aspect of projects through the engineering process by assigning work, controlling standards and evaluating results while controlling engineering costs. Reporting any variations to management.
6. Perform duties unique to functional area such as CAD programming, maintaining and improving standard designs.
7. Document and update design procedures on a regular bases.
8. Provides technical support to Marketing through the generation of sales assistance drawings or calculations. May generates new ideas for product improvement, reliability and cost reduction.
9. May schedule and conduct project review meeting, focusing on scope of supply and project scheduling;
10. May schedule work flow for and check the work of other engineering personnel.
11. May provide technical support to shop and field start-up services
12. May provide customer personnel training in the operations and maintenance of equipment
13. May communicate directly with customer as a Project manager, such communication would consist of project schedule and technical issues.
14. May perform Project Management function on smaller projects under the direction of a senior level project manager or department head
15. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures;
16. Other duties may be assigned as required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex industry related documents.
Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
Ability to understand English, at advanced level, via written and verbal communication.
INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT, DECISION MAKING & PROBLEM SOLVING:
Ability to make decisions requiring the use of a variety of variables in complex situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and a 3D modeling software application; Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical equations to a variety of complex, non-standard situations.
• Travel: Regular visits to customer, supplier and job sites.
• Other:
o Ability to read and understand specification, fabrication, erection, and standard engineering drawings;
o Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly techniques;
o Knowledge of drafting standard for both structural and mechanical design;
o Basic Knowledge of and limited project management experience.
o Ability to work effectively and safely with power tools, chemicals and various materials as necessary to perform field service work.
o A good level of physical fitness is required.

Requirements
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
B.S. degree in Mechanical of Civil engineering from an ABET accredited university with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in heavy equipment/product design or in water or wastewater equipment design. Civil Engineers must be working toward PE license.
