Job Description
SURGICAL TECHNICIAN, PART-TIME (1-2 DAYS PER WEEK)
JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Assist surgeon during cataract and oculoplastic surgeries, utilizing appropriate aseptic techniques. Prepare instruments, equipment and operating suite as needed. Clean and sterilize operating room and instruments after a surgical procedure in a timely manner. Communicate effectivley with surgeons and staff members to be an effective part of a top-notch team. Effectivley communicate pre and post operative instructions to patients. Must observe and maintain compliance with all OSHA guidelines including hazard communication, MSDS, and PPE requirements.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Completion of a surgical technician program or equivalent experience preferred. Surgical technician certification is preferred. Must be extremely reliable with minimal supervision. Current CPR and AED certification preferred. Excellent communication of the English langauge (spoken and written). Must have a positive attitude and work well under pressure. Capable of working in a team but not afraid to ask for help when needed. Must demonstrate a commitment to ethical conduct.
