Job Description
Part-time: Monday through Friday with occasional weekends
Between 40 and 60 hours a month
Benefits: 457 retirement plan, PTO (Paid time off), Mileage Reimbursement
Purpose of the position: Monitoring to ensure that home daycare providers operate according to federal and State program guidelines and that accurate records are available to justify reimbursement for properly served meals. Monitors are required to perform general office assignments as needed.
Job Summary
Responsible for providing information, guidance, evaluation, technical assistance, training and conducting quarterly program reviews of home daycare providers participating in the federal food program.
Observe and answer questions relative to guidelines for participating in the program.
Demonstrate an ability to understand and explain federal and state regulations regulation
Prepare and participate in annual provider training.
General office work required such as filing, mailings, data entry, phone and office coverage
Community outreach
Daily and occasional overnight travel
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and the ability to implement and train others on federal/state regulations
o meal pattern requirements, menu planning and nutrition, food safety and sanitation
Prefer experience in child nutrition programs.
Experience in Regulation Interpretation and evaluation, helpful
Good skills in training and education for home providers to enable families to participate in the federal food program.
Experience in program monitoring and training others.
Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with individuals and groups are necessary to administer program services and training to home providers.
Good customer service skills
Knowledgeable in computers, databases and I Pad
Responsibilities
planning and preparing for your assigned reviews
assessing whether the home has corrected problems noted in previous review(s)
ensuring that providers maintain required documentation and records, including
o documentation of licensing or approval;
o the number of meals served, by type;
o menus; attendance records; and
o complete and current enrollment forms
reconciling any discrepancies in meal counts and attendance or enrollment records;
conducting a reconciliation of the homes meal counts with enrollment and attendance records for a five-day period
assigning corrective action for problems encountered
informing the sponsor about problems found in homes and ensuring that corrective action is completed and documented;
preparing complete reports of reviews and ensuring that copies of the reports are included in an official file for each home
conducting training as necessary and ensuring that the provider has attended required training;
ensuring compliance with basic health and safety requirements
