Position Description: Experienced Support Technician for GroupLink, a mature and fast-growing software development company in Bountiful. Customer Support--- ???Represent GroupLink in a professional, friendly and courteous manner in all correspondence and activities ???Diagnose problems through research, isolation and resolution steps Document results of research to expand internal knowledge base and provide reference for future troubleshooting ???Record all support activities in customer database, and assist in keeping customer records up to date. ???Prioritize requests when necessary, including escalation of issues to next level support, Applications Engineering and/or working with development to resolve issues as required ???Resolve requests in a timely manner, including tracking and proactive follow-up on tickets that are not immediately resolved. ???Keep current with the new technologies and application features as relate to support responsibilities ???Other duties may be assigned ???Complies with health and safety policies and procedures. ???Must have a mature business-process and business-needs perspective ???Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills ???Must enjoy customer communication via telephone

Position Requirements: ???A minimum of 5 years experience supporting the IT systems of a small to medium size business. ???Have advanced desktop skills including support of desktops, PCs, laptops and servers, and printers. ???Experience working in a help desk environment. ???Experience building and imaging PCs and laptops to a build standard. ???Good working knowledge of MS Office applications, OpenOffice, database servers, various operating systems (Windows, Netware, Linux), Novell GroupWise, and backup software and procedures. ???Experience with VPN clients and network routing ???Experience with virtual servers / PCs with VMware software ???A minimum of 5 years experience with technologies such as Apache, Tomcat, SQL ???Exposure to configuration control procedures ???Can work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a quality controlled environment. ???Willing to work as part of a team. ???Must be a professional individual with excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills. ???Should be skilled in planning and organizing his/her own work requiring minimal day-to-day direction. ???Must be able to guide users through the troubleshooting processes and provide basic one-on-one application overviews to users. ???Service-oriented and have excellent customer-service skills. ???Neat in appearance, organized and meticulous in caring for details.
