POSITION DESCRIPTION
Project Managers are responsible for organizing and directing assigned activities in the design and production of composite tooling, metallic tooling, and/or production parts. JI has 4 levels of Project Manager established; depending on experience, the Project Manager role may range from contributing to a project team to running large projects and managing project teams for multiple customer accounts. Project Managers are responsible for learning, implementing, and occasionally improving Janicki Industries procedures, standards, and expectations. Additional opportunities, responsibilities, and rewards are provided to incumbents according to their level of experience, contribution and achievement. The following essential job functions are performed as a Project Manager:
• Develops and executes detailed project plans by maintaining effective communication, consultation with, and oversight of Production and Design
• Develops and analyzes schedules and budgets; regular communication with the customer on schedule progress; develops and releases work orders and purchases supplies
• Designs tooling for projects, occasionally developing new tooling procedures
• Mentors new Engineers and Project Managers
• Occasionally gives tours and represents JI in sales; review requests for proposals and calculate quotes for projects
• Enforces 5S and AS9100 Standards and Practices throughout all work performed
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
• Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Plastic Engineering Technology, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, or a related field of study is preferred. Education may be substituted with equivalent industry experience in aerospace, marine, or transportation industrial manufacturing.
COMPETENCIES
• Strong communication skills through written, verbal, and graphical mediums
• Ability to work effectively as an individual and a team member
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software is required
• Experience with CAD software is desired
• Detailed understanding of the product development and product realization processes
• Ability to handle demanding schedules
• Basic understanding of role and responsibilities of a Project Manager
