Job Description
Energy Management Corporation (EMC), located in Salt Lake City, has an opening for an electrical technician/panel builder position. We are a 30+ year-old and growing industrial automation company that sells and services electrical motors, drives, and generators.

We are looking for an innovative, extremely detail-oriented, high-energy, self-motivated, honest, and hardworking individual. With over 80 employees in the Intermountain West, we have a full-time position opening in our Motor Drives International manufacturing division for an electrical or mechanically oriented individual with industrial control panel building experience.

401K, health, dental, vision, paid time off, and profit sharing available.

Pay is $12-$14+ / hour, dependent on experience, with room for advancement.

Two different shifts available: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. or a swing shift at 3 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Requirements
• This important position will require a hard working individual who can be a part of our team.
• Must be familiar with all phases of panel building (ie. drilling, mounting, and wire motor controls). Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and DC drives design and start-up work is a plus, but not required.
• Follow safety rules and create a safe culture.
• Experience with Underwriters Laboratory and UL508A standards is desired.
• Interprets data from electrical and mechanical diagrams and schematics.
• Layout specifications for fabrication and modifications on metal, plastic, and fiberglass enclosures.
• Mount electrical components including: circuit breakers, transformers, relays, contractors, terminals, input/output devices and or all related industrial control devices.
• Perform wiring of electrical components and cable assemblies.
• Rely on prior experience, training, engineering and data charts to make wiring decisions related to size, color and routing.
• Cuts, strips, bends, and forms wire cable and conduit used to connect circuits and subassemblies.
• Solder connections and crimps connectors to wire ends.
• Discusses errors in diagrams or panel with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problem.
• Maintain company standards for quality.
• Must be able to use small hand tools.

Applicants must be able to fulfill the physical duties of the job, which include being able to stand or walk for long periods of time, occasionally sit, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel, use wrists and hands for using tools, and looking down at the product being built. Applicants must be able to reach with hands and arms. Applicants must also be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

The ideal candidate will also possess strong interpersonal skills, dedication, will be a team player, and must be able to communicate clearly in English.
