Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing software changes and enhancements to the DataMetrix core software products. DUTIES 1. Consults with internal and external clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements. 2. Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs. 3. Writes and maintains technical specifications. 4. Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs. 5. Develops and maintains plans outlining steps and time tables for developing programs. 6. Researches and evaluates software and hardware to assist in programming or to use as program platforms. 7. Designs and codes screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems. 8. Converts designs and specifications into computer code. 9. Compiles code into programs and corrects errors detected in compile process. 10. Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications. 11. Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs. 12. Consults with client to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs. 13. Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections. 14. Writes documentation or reviews documentation written by others that describes installation and operating procedures. 15. Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs. 16. Trains end users or technical support staff to use programs. 17. Installs and tests programs at client site. 18. Monitors performance of programs after implementation.

Education/Experience: 1. Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in computer science or related degree. 2. Three to five years??? experience in software development. Required Qualifications: 1. Academic or professional experience in Pascal, C#, or C++ development. 2. Knowledge of object-oriented programming, multi-threaded application development and networking. 3. Demonstrate advance SQL skills. 4. Willingness to follow defined development design/delivery standards. 5. Must be a self-starter and very comfortable working in a fast paced and demanding environment. 6. Exceptional analytical & problem-solving skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines. 7. Strong oral and written communication skills. 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to self-manage, multitask and prioritize projects to meet scheduled deadlines. Highly Desirable Skills: 1. Working knowledge of health insurance markets considered a plus.
