Description
The IT Support Specialists role is to be part of a cheerful, positive team that provides excellent managed and end-user IT support to small and mid-sized computer networks. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all desktop, server, and network hardware. The person will also diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and support where required.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling, and networking hardware and software products.
Receive and respond to incoming support tickets, and maintain thorough and accurate documentation within the support ticket system.
Perform, test, and monitor routine system backups and restores.
Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of IT equipment inventory and related documentation.
Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
Knowledge & Experience & Other
Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows and OSX (MAC).
Considerable application support experience.
Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.

Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
