Job Description
SUMMARY
Performs basic engineering work in support of capital sold orders. Completes assigned activities under strict guidance of Project Managers, Project Engineers and other senior engineering staff.
Performs basic engineering work in support of capital sold orders. Completes assigned activities under strict guidance of Project Managers, Project Engineers and other senior engineering staff.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Under the guidance of Project Engineer or other senior engineering staff members, learn to generate general arrangement and other submittal drawings in a timely manner;
2. Under the guidance of the Project Engineer or other senior engineering staff, learn to review all applicable job data, including POs, project plans and specs to determine characteristics of order and establishing engineering objectives;
3. May providing some technical support to Marketing by generating sales assistance, drawings, under the guidance of other engineering staff members
4. Under the guidance engineering staff members, learn to detailing drawings for fabrication;
5. Advising Project Management and Project Engineers of the status of assigned activities while adhering to all company and corporate policies;
6. Other duties may be assigned as required.
LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Must be in their junior year working to obtain a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex industry related documents.
Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
Ability to understand English, at advanced level, via written and verbal communication
INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT, DECISION MAKING & PROBLEM SOLVING:
Ability to make decisions requiring the use of a variety of variables in non-standard situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of AutoCAD and a 3D modeling software application; Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical equations to a variety of complex, non-standard situations.
• Travel: None
• Other:
o Ability to read and understand specification, fabrication, erection, and standard engineering drawings;
o Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly techniques;
o Knowledge of drafting standard for both structural and mechanical design;
