Job Description
Larson Davis, a division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc., is an acoustic and vibration measurement systems company located in Provo, Utah. Currently, we are seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware/DSP Engineer to join our development group in creating portable instrumentation products. Candidates should have fundamental knowledge of acoustics, filters and device drivers. The person in this position will have an influential role in the future strategic vision for Larson Davis.
Requirements
This is a hands-on engineering position where the applicant must be a self-starter and have experience developing embedded DSP firmware using C/C++ and assembly languages. Candidates must be able to demonstrate problem solving abilities including debugging, testing and methodical approaches to root cause analysis. The person in this position is expected to transform theoretical concept ideas into practical applications. The applicant should be familiar with Agile processes, architecture design, test-driven development and embedded Linux. This position will require someone who is able to work individually as well as in small groups. They will have direct interaction with design engineers and stakeholders as they contribute to architecture decisions for new products.
Minimum education required is a BS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. An M.S. degree in Engineering or Physics is strongly preferred. Mathematics knowledge is necessary for implementing numerical methods and using logarithms. Educational emphasis in Statistics, Acoustic, Vibration and a willingness to continually learn is helpful.
