Job Description
Salt Lake City manufacturing firm is looking for a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer. This is a medium size facility that is part of a large international corporation. The job is a hands-on engineering position supporting the design and production of molded rubber and other elastomer products. The position will be responsible for providing engineering support for product design, product revision, manufacturing processes, quality and lean activities.
Requirements
Duties will include: Working directly with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve problems, improve processes and support plant engineering and maintenance projects. Position will require creation and maintenance of product bills of materials; creation and maintenance of routings; development and documentation of manufacturing methods and procedures; product design and development; working with Quality personnel to identify and resolve product issues.
This position requires 1 to 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment. A Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer is required. A successful candidate must be functional in 2D/3D CAD, preferable AutoCAD and/or NX. Good written and verbal skills and computer literacy are a required. This position requires that applicants be able to work independently, show initiative, be responsive to challenges, and provide leadership when working as part of a team to solve problems. Applicant should be familiar with LEAN, Process Improvement, and Best Practices concepts. Experience in general machine and fabrication shop practices, mold design, molding of rubber or other elastomers, or any hands on mechanical experience would be useful.
