Purpose
Telecommunications Technicians safely and effectively construct, modify, install, test, repair, adjust and operate telephone, telecommunications, control, and monitoring systems and equipment at the journey level. The technicians also develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of telecommunication systems and sub-systems in order to analyze system problems and take prompt remedial action with minimum service disturbance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technician on the Installation of analog and digital voice and data telecommunications equipment including VOIP Systems, PBX systems, Key systems, and peripherals
Employ appropriate troubleshooting techniques for analog and digital voice and data problems and for point to point as well as point to CO applications
Complete work orders for adds, moves and changes.
Ensure front-line customer satisfaction by dealing professionally and effectively with all internal and external customers
Provide rotating 24 hour on-call coverage
Receive, plan and prioritize jobs/work orders via centralized dispatch on his/ her routes on a daily basis
Submit all paperwork associated with jobs including: time spent per activity, equipment used, services provided, mileage logs, installation forms, site surveys and weekly expense reports
Maintain a complete and updated truck inventory of all tools and equipment necessary to complete jobs
Submit requests for additional supplies to the Inventory Control Coordinator on a timely basis
Develop and maintain a current database on all products he/ she has worked
Additional responsibilities as position requires.

Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).
Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
Must be able to act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representatives).
Must possess proven problem solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
Must have proven skill level or the ability to learn to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones. .
