Job Description
Under the direction of the Manager plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes. Requires the ability to effectively interact with other engineers, technicians and other cross functional team members in performing work assignments. Maintains responsibility for development, evaluation and improvement of manufacturing methods. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, work flow and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety. Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Develops and maintains process documentation. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arranges for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods to design and improve manufacturing methods. Design automated equipment and troubleshooting processes. Previous process/controls (Allen Bradley PLC) system development or product launch experience is preferred. Evaluates and implements cost savings opportunities for the equipment and facility. Prepares capital appropriation request and justification for equipment as required. Have knowledge of computer network systems. Must maintain a good understanding of leading edge technology. Experience programming Allen Bradley PLC, control panel design, and industrial integration. Must have experience designing programming, fabrication and installation of control systems. Experience in robotics is preferred, specifically Fanuc, Yamaha and Epson. Good equipment troubleshooting skills required. Five (5) year of experience in design, manufacture, testing and/or inspection of manufacturing products, equipment and/or facilities. Must have the ability to apply engineering techniques and standards utilized in the manufacture of automotive airbag safety products. Programming all AB Control Platforms including Control Logix, Compact Logix, SLC 500, PLC 5, RSLinx and Micrologix. Experience with using VB,C++, Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeiceNet and Data HighWay. Additional programming experience with variety of other, GE Fanuc, Epson controls, Vision System. Development of HIM system.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
2 years or more experience in manufacturing environment. Attention oriented, action to detals, problem solving and communicate effectively.
