Job Description
Job Title: Business Development Manager
Status: Full-time, Salary base plus commission
Department: Business Development
Benefits: Life Insurance, 401k, Health Insurance, paid vacation and sick leave
Location: 320 W 200 South, SLC
Reports To: Company President
Business Development Manager Job Purpose: Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
2. Trains and leads sales people and instructs them in how to find new business by teaching new prospecting techniques and identifying new sales opportunities.
3. Must be able to work with inside teams to coordinate project management success
4. Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
5. Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
6. Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
7. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
8. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
9. Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
10. Ability to find prospective clients through cold calling and existing personal network contacts.

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Experience, and Knowledge
Bachelors Degree required. At least 5 years of experience working in sales of services is required. Proven experience in writing proposals.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Must have large network of contacts working in international organizations.
2. Must have the ability to manage several activities simultaneously.
3. Typing skills of 50 WPM or greater.
4. Must have the ability to organize complex projects.
5. Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, Cold Sales, Selling to Customer Needs, Territory Management, Market Knowledge, Presentation Skills, High Energy Level, Meeting Sales Goals, Professionalism.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mental/Cognitive
1. Is required to have sufficient cognitive abilities to analyze customer complaints, determine the core or root problem, and take corrective action.
2. Must be capable of learning quickly various MS Office software programs.
3. Must be capable of multi-tasking.
4. Critical attention to detail
5. Ability to meet tight deadlines
6. Must handle stressful situations with tact and professionalism
Physical
Physical requirements are limited but the person must be able to sit for long hours working at a computer screen, have good vision, and good eye-hand coordination.
Must be able and willing to travel both short and long distances.
Must be able to speak clearly, coherently and professionally in English.
