Substance Abuse Clinical Program Director Position Closes 11.27.2012 @ 8:00am Salary Negotiable Includes Health Benefits and 401K Please send Resume to: firstname.lastname@example.org ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A.) Administration / Management 1. Oversees day-to-day clinical operations of the Haven, a local, non-profit, residential, substance abuse, therapeutic community and transitional housing provider in Salt Lake City, Utah. 2. Assure that the quality of clinical services is maintained by providing individual and/or group clinical supervision and coordination of clinical professionals ancillary staff and volunteers. 3. Lead, manage and direct paraprofessionals, Office Manager and Grant Writer to develop and enhance the income portfolio and payer sources of treatment at the Haven. 4. Insure that clinical records are accurate, current, and meet county, state and DHS licensing regulations. 5. Oversee office manager in budget management, fundraising and spending expenses. 6. Inform the Board of Directors in a timely manner of all relevant political, financial, clinical, and liability issues and make recommendations for any changes in procedures. 7. Insure the building and property is clean and well maintained. 8. Implement, develop and/or revise program policies and procedures and assure that a quality improvement program including outcome measures is implemented. 9. Participate in internal and external committees and management team meetings. B.) Clinical Services 1. Operate under the rules of licensure, supervision dictated by the State of Utah Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) Code for Mental Health Professionals (MHP) under http://dopl.utah.gov/laws/58-60.pdf, Mental Health Professional Practice Act. Additionally, this position also requires that the incumbent operate according to their individual licensure as mandated by State Statue under the direction of DOPL. 2. Provide the following services to clients or the public: a. Information and referral to clients and community resources. b. Intake interviews and admission paperwork. c. Crisis intervention. d. Direct group and individual sessions. 2. Work with staff to coordinate admissions and discharges of clients. 3. Develop and implement family education services. 4. Participate in supervision and clinical team with University of Utah affiliates at the Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program. 5. Provide clinical supervision for staff as required. 6. Facilitate groups, education or counseling with clients. 7. Share a regular rotation providing after hours on-call supervision of organization wide clinical services. 8. Have a working knowledge of SASSI, ASAM placement criteria, DSM IV diagnostic criteria and ICD-9 codes, UWITS for Salt Lake County Mental Health services and other various mental health and substance abuse assessment and diagnostic tools. C.) Consultation and Education 1. Provide consultation regarding clinical and administrative issues to other resources as requested. (i.e., Salt Lake County Mental Health, Grant Funding agencies or Individuals, DHS, Health Department, etc.) 2. Provide educational training and information to the families and friends of clients and to the general public as needed. 3. Provide leadership about in-service training offered to staff, assuring that staff meets licensure standards and clinical needs. D.) Planning and Community Organizing 1. Use good judgment and maintain effective boundaries when sharing information about the Haven with county staff, other providers, and members of the community. 2. Attend various community meetings and report back relevant information to the treatment team. 3. Organize and implement community involved fundraising in conjunction with treatment staff, grant writer and Board of Directors. 4. Participate in community needs assessments. Implement and maintain a variety of procedures to evaluate the program and its??? services. 5. Be available to offer leadership and cooperation to customers, clients, family members and other community providers to continue to seek out and provide cost effective services. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Business management experience and leadership ability also highly desirable. c. Working knowledge of 12 Steps is also highly desirable. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid license as LCSW, MPC, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist or other under DOPL Mental Health Act. Valid Driver???s License and proof of insurance meeting agency standards required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The Haven is comprised of an 18 bed Residential Therapeutic Community, 100 transitional housing beds across multiple locations in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.
