Job Description
The Graphic Design Coordinator (Print/Web) is responsible for designing and helping to maintain the visual look and feel of the university’s print, web, and email marketing materials. Responsible for designing and producing a variety of media, including brochures, advertisements, flyers, web pages, email marketing templates, and other materials as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Graphic Design Coordinator’s position may focus on, but will not be limited to, the following functions and responsibilities identified below.
•PRINT DESIGN ◦Printed brochures, including ongoing marketing mailing materials
◦Collateral materials for events and partnership programs
◦Merchandise design
◦Direct mail
◦Pre-press and press check processes
•WEB DESIGN ◦Design templates for the university website
◦Design web banners
◦Design microsites
◦Potentially code templates for university website as required
•EMAIL DESIGN ◦Design templates for email marketing use
◦Potentially code templates for email marketing use
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
•Brand design management—Design and manage the brand design across multiple media.
•Project management—Ability to manage multiple projects and produce high-quality work on deadline with limited error.
•Creativity and ingenuity—Ability and willingness to try new designs, modify designs, and yet stay “in brand.”
•Problem-solving/resourcefulness—Consults colleagues and partners when researching new approaches/solutions.
•Teamwork and collaboration—Ability and willingness to work potentially in a “design by committee” environment, absorbing critique in a positive manner, and work well with teammates and managers.

Requirements
Required Skills •Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, in particular InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver a plus.
•Working knowledge of print production processes and techniques (artwork, pre-press, printing).
•Thorough understanding of branding design principles and how those design principles stretch across multiple media.
•Strong organization skills, detail-oriented and quality-focused.
•Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
•Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Required Experience •Bachelor’s degree in a related field (graphic design, fine arts, etc.) and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role; or ◦Associate’s degree in a related field (graphic design, fine arts, etc.) and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related role; or
◦At least 5 years of experience in a related role.
•Applicants are required to submit a portfolio demonstrating prior design work. Showcase of print and web design is preferable.
