Job Description
This position reports directly to the CFO and works closely with the Corporate Controller. The cost accountant/budget analyst is accountable for preparing and monitoring departmental and company annual budgets. This position will be accountable for ongoing analysis of budget variances, capital expenditure requirements, reviewing and updating overhead and allocation of overhead to departments and product lines, review standard and actual costs for accuracy, updating standard costs, report on variances and their causes. This position will coordinate and monitor physical inventory counts and cycle counts as well as investigates cycle count variance and work with others to resolve issues.
Requirements
Required Degree, Experience and Skills:
• Accounting degree (bachelor degree – minimum)
• 3+ years experience in cost accounting in manufacturing environment.
• Excellent analysis skills and the ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.
• Experience in budgeting (compiling, monitoring, analyzing and reporting)
• Exceptional understanding of manufacturing processes, overhead calculation and allocation, standard costing, inventory control. Job reporting, labor analysis and reporting.
• Solid understanding and experience with ERP systems and mechanisms including inventory control, accounting processes and procedures, data entry, query and reporting.
• Strong database query and report building skills. Experience with Crystal Reports and SQL (or equivalent). Strong MS Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills
• Self-motivated problem solver
• Works well with executive officers and department team members
• Experience with a mid to large scale company (200 to 1000 employees)
