Job Description
Job Title: Human Resource / Payroll Specialist
Summary:
Reporting to the CFO, the HR / Payroll Specialist is responsible for all human resource and payroll functions of a consolidated services company providing services to 5 small to mid-size operating companies under common ownership with total annual revenues of $60 to $75 million with office locations in at least 4 states.

Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources:
Oversee all ad placement, recruiting, interviewing, hiring and termination of employees.
Set-up and maintain all required employment and employee paperwork and files.
Maintain and administrate health, dental, COBRA, health savings, supplemental and 401(k) employee benefit plans.
Handle all employee claims, requests, issues and questions in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure that companies and employees are in compliance with all federal and state employment laws, regulations and statutes.
Work with Management to develop employee compensation structure and employee review policies, etc.
Payroll:
Track and audit all employee time, attendance, etc. for bi-weekly payrolls.
Transmit payroll data to and coordinate with third party payroll processor.
Ensure that all federal and state payroll tax returns are correct and filed on a timely basis and that all monies are transmitted and paid timely.
Handle all employee claims, requests, issues and questions in a timely and efficient manner.
Compensation: DOE and qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience in human resources and payroll in a supervisory role.
Ability to act as an advocate for the employee while helping to establish and maintain excellent employee relationships and moral.
Integrity, Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law and practices.
Ability to work independently and meet ALL deadlines.
College Degree.
Expertise in managing reporting, budget development and analysis regarding employee costs, etc.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required. Ability to interface with other operating systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate and develop relationships with key managers and employees
