Job Description
Industry summary: One of the Nation's fastest growing oil field servicing providers has the position listed below.

Position summary: The GL Accountant is required to diligently execute all duties described below. Reports directly to the Controller. Ensures transactions are entered into the accounting system on an accurate and timely basis.

Core objective: To manage the Accounting Process and month end close process ensuring transactions are entered into the accounting system accurately and timely in the proper accounting period.
Requirements
Position responsibilities:
Month end Close:
• Manage the month end close checklist to ensure all entries are recorded.
• Review Operating Expense and assigned Balance Sheet accounts to ensure all transactions are properly stated and recorded in the proper account and location/department.
• Research other Financial Statement variances as requested.
• Record loan payments on a monthly basis.
• Prepare A/R aging report.
• Accrue interest on all loans.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts as assigned.
Reconciliation:
• Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations.
• Update and monitor all A/R accounts and write-off any bad debt.
• Complete/review ALL bank reconciliations.
General Ledger Support:
• GL Acct Management/Set Up/Close in Quick Books Accounting System
Misc. Accounting Duties:
• Accounts Payable
• Accounts Receivable
• Post journal entries for accounting department.
• Prepare and record corporate deposits each week.
• Review and set up new A/R accounts for business customers.
• Record operating bank account activity on a daily basis.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.
• Other reconciliations as assigned from time to time.

Essential skills and experience:
• Associates Degree in Accounting at a minimum is required.
• Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to manage multiple data flows
• Excellent phone communication skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Detail Oriented and organized
• Strong team player
• Commitment to company shared values
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office products(Word, Excel, Office)
• Knowledgeable in Quick Books Enterprise Solutions: Manufacturing & Wholesale 12.0
• Knowledge of accounting procedures and principals.
• Strong Customer Service skills
Valued but not required skills and experience:
• 3-5 years accounting experience preferred.

Salary based on experience.
