System Administrator II
Job Description:
The position configures, manages and maintains mission critical servers. These systems include email, databases, virtual machines, remote desktop systems, application servers, file and print servers, domain controllers and DNS servers. Employees in this position have progressive experience in the configuration and management of enterprise server systems and have demonstrable skills working independently with these systems.
Education: Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years progressive Information Technology experience specifically in the areas of Microsoft Windows and VMWare server system design and administration.
Skills:
· Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks.
· Intermediate training and experience in the design, development and implementation of information technology systems.
· Management and administration of Microsoft products (Windows, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Terminal Services/Remote Desktop, Active Directory, etc.)
· Experience using and maintaining VMWare products (Vcenter, ESXi, Vsphere)
· Configuration and support of blade hardware and SAN storage technologies.
· Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Oral and written communication skill. Ability to document systems and processes.
Team Responsibilities
· Prompt attendance to all scheduled work shifts assigned.
· Attend all scheduled training opportunities.
· Deliver effective verbal and written communications to IT department.
Hardware and Systems Software
· Support the continual operation of systems that support end-user work activities.
· With supervision, provide administration and support of mission critical operations.
· Assist other team members with tasks as required.
· Support end-user requests for assistance with applications and systems.
· Provide detailed support and troubleshooting documentation of operations and information systems.
· Provide detailed tracking and documentation of problem resolutions to reported issues.
Systems Operations and Maintenance
· Support the continual functioning of mission critical operations and operation of systems that support end-user work activities.
· Continually monitor system performance using all available tools.
· Monitor system backups and test data recovery from backup.
· Assist in maintaining security and privacy of the information systems, communication lines and equipment.
