Job Description
Sets up and operates conventional and numerical control (NC) 4 and 5 axis milling machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. Verifies conformance of finished work to specifications.
Requirements
2-3 yrs experience with 4 and 5 axis horizontal milling machines, (preferrably experience with A55 and A77 4 axis machines) GD&T, inspection requirements and part set up. Must have machining background, preferably journeyman certification. Programming experience a plus. Night shift and/or fireman shifts.
