Job Description
Senior Software Developer/Manager (Web/Database)
White River Junction, VT or Salt Lake City, UT
This newly-created position is part of the software development group of the Technology Solutions Practice, and may work out of either RSG location. Primary responsibilities include managing several software developers day to day work; enforcing strict software development principles including change management and version control; contributing in business development for RSG’s software services; working with Director of IT in the areas of initiatives and projects; and being a major contributor in the development process, including, but not limited to, requirements assessing, designing, developing, testing, debugging and documenting systems to support business processes.
We seek someone with the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math or similarly quantitative field of study
• 8 to 10 years experience in software development methodologies
• Prior people management experience
• Demonstrates flexibility in day-to-day work
• Demonstrates innovation and demands high-quality results
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in .NET or similar enterprise framework
• Strong knowledge of database structures and relational database concepts (MS SQL)
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of object and component methodology and technology
• Possesses expert knowledge of classes, components, objects, and interfaces
• Experience with desktop, client/server, virtualization, cloud and Internet applications and architectures
• Knowledge of CVS/SVN or other SCM tool
• Fundamental understanding how software, hardware and infrastructure relate to one another
• Experience with web design usability, HTML, and client-side scripting a plus
• Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) or Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) a plus
• Activity in open source development a plus
