SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Former computer store owner "Super" Dell Schanze is tossing his name into the race for mayor of Saratoga Springs.

"Every person that's on the ball and paying attention and wants freedom and liberty is going to be voting for me," he said.

Schanze says, if elected, he plans to beautify Saratoga Springs, eliminate unnecessary expenditures and lower taxes. He also wants to set up the proper role of government.

"Try and buffer everyone's freedoms so that the police are not there to terrorize and harass, but they're there to serve and protect," he said.

He thinks this race will be easier for him to win because people in Saratoga Springs know him personally and won't listen to any negative press that's out there about him.

He says if he would have won his campaign for governor, Utah's economy would be much stronger. "We would have pulled out of the Union, and basically told Obama that he can shove his stimulus packages," he said.
