SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Doctors are closely monitoring one of the former conjoined twins after she underwent surgery to correct a bowel obstruction.
Four-year-old Maliyah Herrin currently remains in Primary Children's Medical Center. The blockage was believed to have been caused by scarring from the 26-hour surgery that separated her from her twin, Kendra, in August.
Doctors are now monitoring Maliyah closely and are trying to bolster how much she eats. Doctors say they're trying to get her calorie intake up. They say if it goes up, she may go home in the next day or so.
Last month, Kendra underwent surgery to correct a similar obstruction.
