SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- One of the former conjoined twins --- Maliyah Herrin --- continues to recover this morning after undergoing surgery to correct a bowel blockage.
Both Maliyah and Kendra Herrin were re-admitted to Primary Children's Medical Center last week with a partial bowel obstruction. Which is caused by scarring from their separation surgery.
Hospital officials say Maliyah is doing pretty well. She remains in the intensive care unit, and is expected to remain in the hospital for several days.
Both girls, who were born fused at the mid-torso, were separated back in August during a 26-hour surgery.
