Dozens of people participated in bone-marrow drive
January 25th, 2009 @ 3:16pm

(KSL News) Nearly 200 people swabbed their cheeks to see if their bone marrow can help the wife of ReAL Salt Lake midfielder Andy Williams.

Marcia Williams was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia last June and needs a bone marrow transplant.

So the Grace Community Bible Church organized a drive to help the Williams find a match. Andy said, "We can't express how much, all our thanks right now, and especially for the church helping us out."

If no match is found for Marcia today, volunteers can also be matched to others who need a transplant

Another donor screening drive will be held at Rio Tinto Stadium this coming Thursday, Jan. 29 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. William's team members are expected to be there and will also be screened, some of them were screened today.
