MIDWAY, Wasatch County — A wildfire started by an ATV crash is dying down after burning 20 acres near Soldier Hollow on Friday, officials reported.
The wind and smoke dissipated Friday evening, Wasatch County Fire Department spokeswoman Janet Carson said.
Early Saturday morning, officials will send a helicopter to dip water from Deer Creek Reservoir to aid with putting out the remaining fire. Officials ask boaters to stay away from the Decker Bay area during that time.
The fire started about 3 p.m. after an ATV crashed on Cascade Spring Drive and rolled down the mountain, Carson said.
No one was transported for injuries in the crash. Officials reported the fire is moving away from the Midway area and is several miles away from any structures or homes.
There are no evacuations in connection with the fire.
Two crews from the Wasatch County fire department were on scene, as well as several aircrafts, Northern Utah Interagency Fire officials said.
