MAGNA — Police are looking for a man who has repeatedly fled from officers over the last week.

Jason Guymon, 37, has repeatedly fled from police in the west side of Salt Lake Valley after they’ve attempted to bring him in for several felony warrants said Lt. Brian Lohrke, a spokesman for the Unified Police Department.

Guymon has warrants for aggravated assault, possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, stalking, and several misdemeanors Lohrke said.

Over the last week, Lohrke said that police have attempted to apprehend Guymon, who has been seen driving a white Acura on the west side of Salt Lake Valley, in areas such as Kearns and West Valley. Each attempt to stop Guymon in his vehicle has ended with him failing to stop and fleeing the scene.

The last time police attempted to apprehend Guymon was located in West Valley by police at around 1 a.m. He fled into Magna and abandoned his car at 80th W. 3300 South. Unified Police and K-9 units were brought on the scene and they set up a containment area, Lohrke said.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating Guymon. Anyone with information about his location is asked to call the police.

Lohrke does not believe that Guymon represents an immediate danger to the public at this time, despite the several warrants he has. “The immediate threat to the public is when he flees from the police,” he said. “So we have been cautious. We don’t want to make the situation worse. If he can turn himself in or if anyone can assist us with giving a location of him so he is not a threat to the public, that is all the better.”
