SALT LAKE CITY — Mikel is a busy little 13-year-old boy who loves to meet and make friends.

"He really brightens up my day," said Sam Lee. "He's a little engineer in my eyes." Lee knows Mikel pretty well. They spend time together in Community Treatment Alternatives, an afterschool program for children living in foster care.

"He laughs and laughs and it's just contagious," Lee said. "His laugh is just wonderful."

Mikel has autism and does need some extra care.

"(He needs help) definitely with transitions," Lee said. "Transitions between activities can be very difficult for him."

This little boy who cares so much about others needs something every child deserves.

"I think it would be so cool to see him be with a family who loves him as much as we love him," Lee said. "We call it a forever family."
