SALT LAKE CITY — Wednesday marks National Pretzel Day and while there are multiple odd celebratory days on the calendar each year, this one is worth celebrating.
Many people may think getting a pretzel is just something to do at the airport or at the mall, but there are a couple of good local places across the state ready to give people a delicious carb fix.
The beautiful thing about pretzels is they can be enjoyed in the knot form or as a roll. If celebrating this holiday is important to you, here are some places to get your pretzel fix on National Pretzel Day:
Black Sheep Cafe ================
Location: 19 N. University Ave., Provo
The cafe sells craft burgers placed on pretzel buns. Open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Location: 953 E. 700 North on Utah State University’s campus, Logan
The store on the USU campus sells pretzels and pretzel sauce. Open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Muddy Bees Bakery =================
Location: 525 State St. #7, Hurricane
The bakery sells all sorts of baked goods, including pretzel rolls. The store is open 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Parsons’ Bakery ===============
Location: 535 W. 2600 South, Bountiful
The bakery sells all sorts of cakes, cookies, breads and pastries. Among the options are pretzel rolls with or without cheese. The bakery is open Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
[Siegfried’s Delicatessen
Location: 20 W. 200 South, Salt Lake City
The German deli sells all things German, including pretzels. The deli is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Locations: 147 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City and 1900 Park Ave., Park City
The pub’s appetizer menu includes a pretzel with pale ale mustard and three cheese sauce. The pub is open from 11 a.m. to midnight Wednesday in Salt Lake City and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Park City. Patrons must be at least 21 years old to enter.
Vosen’s Bread Paradise ======================
Location: 328 W. 200 South, Salt Lake City
The German bakery, which celebrates 20 years of business this month, sells cheese pretzel sticks, sweet pretzels and German salt pretzels. The business is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
