THE CRIB — Waking up (and breaking up) is hard to do, and for some babies it’s simply the worst time of day.

Occasionally parents will win the baby lottery and have babies who wake up happy or even laughing. (Out of nine kids, I think my parents only had one of those, and that baby was not me.) Heck, I bet most parents would be over the moon to have a baby that wakes up in a neutral mood. And I further bet you dollars to donuts that the last pick for parents would be a baby that wakes up screaming, apparently experiencing something horrific just by coming to his or her senses.

Maybe babies that wake up screaming have been dreaming of the warmth and safety of the womb where sounds weren’t as sharp and their skin was always protected and moisturized. Maybe some babies have nightmares of unchanged diapers or bottles gone dry. The speculation could go on for days, but my unlearned (and assuredly false) speculations are not why we’re here.

We’re here because of this video of baby boy who has an adorable wake-up routine that will brighten your day. Every morning as KPtheBaby is de-swaddled, his hands pop up above his head in the happiest stretch.

And when I say pop up, I mean an immediate pop-goes-the-weasel type pop. It’s adorable and hysterical all on it’s own; however, the addition of rousing movie quotes and songs that demand you put your hands up in the air like you just don’t care take KP’s adorableness to viral heights. Indeed, the video has been watched over 10 million times since it was posted about a week ago.

I know you liked watching that. Go ahead and watch it again, indulge your joy for just a few more seconds, I won’t tell anyone.
