TUCSON, Ariz. — A man wanted in connection to 11 bank robberies across the American southwest, including an armed robbery of a credit union in Draper, was arrested by FBI agents Tuesday, the agency said.

Anthony James Lane, 50, dubbed the “Barrel Chested Bandit” was arrested without incident with the help of Tucson police, according to the FBI.

The agency believes Lane is connected to robberies in Utah, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. The FBI said it had received multiple tips that helped in making the arrest.

According to the FBI, on Feb. 14, it linked Lane to a robbery at a Draper credit union that occurred on Jan. 12.

A $10,000 reward was offered at that time by the FBI for any information leading to an arrest. FBI officials said that reward payment will be made at the conclusion of the investigation.
