NORTH LOGAN — One woman was killed and another injured after crossing an intersection in North Logan Wednesday morning.
North Park police responded to reports of an accident at the intersection of 2500 N. Main Street at around 10:20 a.m. after a Chevy Silverado was unable to stop in time and hit two women.
The pedestrians, ages 20 and 34, were walking back to a gas station they had just visited when they crossed the intersection while traffic on the road still had a green light, police said. The driver of the Chevy, a 54-year-old man from Paradise, entered the intersection while the light was still green and did not see the women in time to avoid colliding with them.
The women were transported to a local hospital where the 20-year-old was pronounced dead. The 34-year-old was treated and has since been released.
The victims have not yet been identified, pending family notification.
Police are investigating the incident.
