TOOELE — A 16-year-old girl whose disappearance prompted an alert from Layton police Saturday has been found.
Tooele Police Sgt. Nicholas Yale said Kiona Hill-Decou was spotted by a Tooele County sheriff's deputy in a vehicle he pulled over at 1280 N Main St. Sunday morning.
The deputy stopped the vehicle for an equipment violation and recognized Hill Decou in the back seat, Yale said. There were two women in the car with her, and it didn't appear to the deputy that the teen was being held against her will.
The women in the car — a 19-year-old and 24-year-old who were not identified by police — were arrested for investigation of charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, possession fo stolen property and giving false information to police.
Yale said Hill-Decou was released to her grandmother. The investigation is ongoing, he said.
