THE HERD — There’s just something about baby elephants that makes everything they do achingly adorable, and this little calf is no different.

Born on the Mala Mala Game Reserve in South Africa, baby Elle takes her first wobbly steps surrounded by members of her herd, according to the video description.

Things don’t go particularly well for Elle, and she wibbles and wobbles her way in a head-over-heels topple. To make matters worse, there’s a small yet pesky bush that makes things overly difficult for a newly born pachyderm.

Despite of, or maybe because of, her challenges, Elle’s first steps are delightful to watch. There’s an extra layer of “aww” when the surrounding elephants help Elle to her feet. For some reason, this either frightens or offends Elle, and she gives a squeaky (yet oddly terrifying) trump that will probably make you giggle like a little girl, no matter your age or gender.

As an added bonus, keep your eye on Elle’s trunk in the second half of the video. I mean, could that trunk curling be any cuter? I submit that it cannot.

If you feel you must watch this video more than once, which I heartily recommend, try watching it on mute while playing Henry Mancini’s “Baby Elephant Walk.” This aptly named song will add a little more cute and a little more humor to the whole situation.

If this baby elephant video isn’t your thing, try out this video of a elephant calf that hilariously gets “stuck” then quickly rescued by the herd.
