SOUTH JORDAN — Twenty-four ounce sodas are free all day Saturday at the two newest Sodalicious locations. In exchange, the company is collecting money for the family of Tyson Mason.
Mason, a Life Flight paramedic for Intermountain Healthcare, died Jan. 22 in a car accident on U.S. 40 near Strawberry Reservoir. He and a co-worker were returning to Salt Lake City from Uintah Basin Medical Center in Roosevelt after completing a shift at the Life Flight base there when the accident happened.
The co-worker was critically injured in the crash but was expected to survive. Mason left behind a wife and a son, who is now just 3 weeks old.

"Even though we haven't all been in that situation we can all feel something there and go: 'I want to help out. Even if it's just a couple of bucks or something, I can still help this person out,'" Auering said.
Sodalicious is matching donations up to $1,000; Auerning said it just feels like the right thing to do.
