SALT LAKE CITY — The game of golf takes a little patience and a lot of practice if you're going to make par.

For 15-year-old Angel, it's not so much about winning. "I just really like it," said Angel. "It's seeing how far it goes and seeing how much success you get in it."

While many escape to the golf course for a little alone time, Angel doesn't really want that.

"I guess I was not receiving the attention that I needed when I was younger," he said.

For 10 years, Angel lived with his biological parents. "It's really confusing," he said. "I wondered why this is happening to me and why couldn't it happen to some other person."

He says entering foster was tough, but that's not all. "You get separated from your siblings and that's sort of what makes it hard," he said. He doesn't get to see them very often. "I think the last time was May," he said.

He wants somewhere to belong. "I want to have somebody that actually cares about me," he said.

He has plans for his future. He is thinking of going to college. He just hopes that's not something else he has to do alone.

"I want to know what it's like to have family," he said.

He hopes that being patient through all these years in state custody will be worth it. To learn more about Angel, contact The Adoption Exchange at 801-265-0444.
