SALT LAKE CITY — The college football regular season wrapped up in Utah on Saturday night with the battle for the Old Wagon Wheel in Provo.
BYU topped Utah State 28-10, but not without a little in-state rivalry drama, an injury to a Cougar star quarterback, and the return of BYU’s all-time leading rusher.
Former Utah defensive lineman Christian Cox and BYU linebacker David Nixon break down the Cougars’ win over the Aggies in the regular-season finale for both teams, which included another slow start for BYU and big defensive plays by Fred Warner and Michael Shelton, Jamaal Williams’ 131-yard day and another touchdown for Tanner Mangum in a season where we didn’t know how much he would play.
The duo also break down No. 21 Utah’s trip to Boulder to try and spoil No. 9 Colorado’s bid for a Pac 12 South title.
The Utes are the only team in the division who have yet to win a division title, and they can thank red-zone inefficiency, a few dropped passes and an offensive stumble right out of the gate.
