SALT LAKE CITY — Jaylen Warren rushed for six touchdowns as the defending 4A state champion East High Leopards beat Skyline 70-20 Friday night.

The Leopards (11-0) ran wild in a first half that saw 84 total points scored between the two schools, though East scored 70 of those. In the half, Warren accumulated 164 yards rushing on his six touchdowns alone, eclipsing 200 yards for the game.

Besides Warren, fellow running backs Charlie Vincent, Sione Molisi and Helaman Su'esu'e all scored touchdowns for East, as did quarterback Ben Ford. All of the Region 5 champs' points came on the ground.

Playing both ways, Vincent managed one of the Leopards' five interceptions. Defensive backs AJ Iloa, Josh Nielsen and Ian Selin each had picks, as did defensive tacke Fusi Teisina.

For the Leopards, head coach Brandon Matich said it's all about preparing to face Timpview in the next round. The T-Birds dominated Salem Hills 66-19 Friday to set up the powerhouse matchup.

"They've always played us tough," Matich said in reference to Timpview. "But this is a special group and they'll come ready to play next week and hopefully keep this thing rolling."

For Skyline, quarterback Tommy McGrath tossed two touchdowns to Briggs Binford and Ben Knight. Running back Seth Kaelin added a touchdown for the Eagles, but East ultimately just proved too much for Skyline to handle.
