Police find drugs in robbery victim's home

KEARNS— A victim of a robbery was arrested and booked in connection with drug distribution after police found drugs in his home.

Unified police officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the area of 4085 West and 5855 South in Kearns.

When officers arrived, they received information regarding a robbery in the area. The victim stated that he was robbed of his backpack and car charger. He told police there were three to four males in a white sedan that shot at him.

Officers recovered numerous gun shell casings at the scene but initially could not locate any bullet holes. Later in the investigation, a bullet hole was located in front of the victim’s home.

A search warrant was written and served on the victim’s home, which contained a drug manufacturing and distribution operation, police said. The victim of the robbery was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail in connection with drug distribution.

The identity and location of the shooters are unknown. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the police at 801-743-7000.
