WEST HAVEN — The family of Tayton Timothy, the girl who was injured in a freak roller skating accident late last year, is giving back to an elementary school that helped the Timothy family in their time of need.

Though 150 miles away from Delta, where the accident occurred, Sabrina Johnson, a third-grader at Kanesville Elementary, and her older sister Sophia heard about Tayton’s story. They didn't know her, but wanted to help anyway.

They raised money in school to help pay Tayton’s medical bills.

“It doesn’t really matter you don’t know them,” Sabrina Johnson said, of the fundraising. “You can still help them.”

It has nearly been a year since the accident and Tayton is doing great now. At a special assembly, her family decided to give back to the school.

The family donated two Automated External Defibrillators (AED) to the school — just in case a student ever needs help.

“After everything everyone has done for us during the whole thing, we felt like we wanted to give back to everyone who has helped us," said Sammi Timothy, Tayton’s mother.

It’s an example that some lessons are learned from the heart.

“A good deed is another good deed that someone shares with someone else that will spread throughout the world and make it a better place,” said Sophia Johnson.
