SALT LAKE CITY — The Jazz have announced several changes to their coaching staff for the 2016-17 season under the leadership of head coach Quin Snyder.

Igor Kokoskov has been promoted to the front of the bench to be one of the Jazz's lead assistant coaches in his second season with the team. Kokoskov and Snyder have a high level of familiarity, as Kokoskov worked with Snyder as an assistant coach at the University of Missouri. There, he was the first European coach to become a full-time assistant at a Division I school.

Since, Kokoskov has worked for the Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, and the Los Angeles Clippers, and also has served as head coach of the Georgia and Slovenia men's national basketball teams. Kokoskov was a target for teams during the offseason, and his promotion to the front of the bench reflects that Snyder and the Jazz wanted to keep him in Utah.

Zach Guthrie was promoted to the title of assistant coach/basketball strategy after serving as manager of basketball strategy/technology last season. Guthrie worked previously with the Magic and the San Antonio Spurs. Guthrie worked with Snyder in Austin as a basketball operations intern with the D-League Austin Toros.

Lamar Skeeter was also named assistant coach/player development. In the last two seasons, Skeeter worked as the Jazz's player development/video analyst. Skeeter previously worked with Snyder as the player development/video intern for the Atlanta Hawks, where Snyder was an assistant coach.

Not returning to the coaching staff is Brad Jones. Jones was promoted to the role of assistant coach under Ty Corbin in 2013, after leading the Austin Toros to a D-League championship in 2012. Jones is legendary coach Jerry Sloan's nephew by marriage.

Jones' future with the organization is unclear: it's possible he'll find a role with the Jazz moving forward in the front office, or he could move to another organization.

The Utah Jazz full coaching staff: head coach Quin Snyder; assistant coaches Igor Kokoskov, Alex Jensen, Johnnie Bryant, Antonio Lang, Jeff Watkinson, Mike Wells, Zach Guthrie, and Lamar Skeeter.
