OGDEN — Even without a handful of regular starters, Weber State’s final scrimmage of fall camp at Stewart Stadium signaled an important event Saturday morning.

Football is coming, and that means depth is a key concern.

Jadrian Clark completed 11-of-16 passes for 107 yards and three touchdowns on the day, including a six-yard TD strike to Tui Satuala to open the scrimmage.

“We don’t have missed assignments right now. Not much negative players,” Clark said in summing up the day. “Those are drive killers; sacks, turnovers, and penalties. We’re trying to eliminate those, so we’re doing a pretty good job of that.”

Cameron Livingston and former Dixie High standout Drew Batchelor each caught a touchdown from Clark, and Cory Thomson closed out the scrimmage with a 48-yard touchdown run. Former Bingham quarterback Stefan Cantrell threw for 105 yards in relief.

Eleven different receivers caught at least one pass. Building up the depth will be key as the Wildcats prepare for the 2016 season, head coach Jay Hill said.

“We’ve still got to get our backups better,” Hill added. “Today we had a bunch of guys injured on defense, and it looked like it.

“We’ve got a long ways to go. We’ve got a bunch of practices left this week and get these guys healthy.”

Filipe Sitake led the Wildcat defense with a sack, and Adam Rodriguez and Trey Hoskins each recorded a tackle for loss.

Weber State opens the season Sept. 1 at Utah State.
