MIDVALE — A man was shot to death Monday night, and the person who shot him was in custody, police said.
Few details were released, but police said they received a call about 8:50 p.m. about a shooting at 7940 S. State in Midvale.
Police located the body of a man, who they say was shot at least once. The shooting began with some type of conflict, said Unified police detective Ken Hansen.
"There's a lot of issues that could happen here," Hansen said, adding that the cause could have been self-defense.
Investigators said the shooter has been cooperative. The unidentified person was taken into custody, and police recovered a firearm.
The names of those involved were not immediately released Monday night.
One southbound lane closed in the area and was expected to open around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.
