SANDY — Real Salt Lake will have a representative at the MLS All-Star Game in San Jose, California, next week after all.

Midfielder Kyle Beckerman was one of two commissioner’s picks by MLS commissioner Don Garber, the league announced Sunday ahead of the annual event at San Jose’s Avaya Stadium on July 28.

Beckerman joins FC Dallas star Mauro Diaz as the 12th and 13th selections to the 11-man fan selection, which was held via vote last week. RSL did not have a selection on the initial roster, which included names like U.S. internationals Clint Dempsey of Seattle and Jermaine Jones of Colorado, Canadian national team member Cyle Larin of Orlando, and Argentine Ignacio Piatti of Montreal.

The 34-year-old Beckerman will make his ninth appearance on an all-star roster. One of MLS’s top defensive midfielders since signing with Salt Lake, he has 13 starts and one assist in 2016. Beckerman was also on the U.S. men’s national team at the Copa America Centenary, where he registered one start and four appearances for the fourth-place United States.

The complete roster is detailed below. The all-stars and San Jose coach Dominic Kinnear will face London-based Arsenal on July 28 at 5:30 p.m. MT on ESPN.
