PARK CITY — Have you ever wanted to slip ‘n slide down an Olympic ski jump and land in a pool? Well, now for the second year, the Utah Olympic Park is making it possible.
The Utah Olympic Park Slip ‘n Soar event launched in September 2015 and will be held twice this summer. The first event took place June 18 and the last slip ‘n slide party will be held Saturday, Aug. 20.
Two of the single hill ski jumps are converted into “the world’s steepest slip ‘n slide,” according to the website, and participants shoot off the end of the jump into the Spence Eccles Olympic Freestyle Pool. A video was released in May to give a taste of some of the fun people could expect on the slide, and it looks like a great time (just make sure you don’t belly flop.)
The Aug. 20 event runs from 12-6 p.m. at the Utah Olympic Park at 3419 Olympic Parkway, Park City. A day pass to the slip ‘n slide costs $50 and also includes access to bubble soccer and Ping-Pong. Participants also have the option to pay $90 for access to other park amenities including extreme tubing, the zip line, Alpine Slide and the chairlifts.
Participants on the slip ‘n slide must be 13 years or older. Parking is free.
