SALT LAKE CITY — Monday’s large full moon resulted in some gorgeous photos taken by Utah residents.

Monday brought the summer solstice, which marks the beginning of the summer, but it also featured a full "strawberry" moon. It is the first time a full moon has appeared at the same time during the summer solstice since 1967, according to CNN.

Several locals stayed up late to take pictures of the full moon, and we are glad they did.

There are also several wildfires burning in southern Utah, and we received several photos of the smoke and flames from residents. Efforts to fight the fires were temporarily halted Sunday after a drone was detected flying in the area, and officials want to remind people not to fly drones around wildfires.
