DADTOWN — When honoring fathers with videos, it’s hard to determine what type of video will best suit your dad.

Maybe your dad always took the time to take you on adventures to the ballpark, mountains, or your backyard. Maybe your dad is your biggest cheerleader who has been your support through thick and thin. Or maybe, just maybe, your dad is a giant cheeseball full of dad jokes.

Since I too could not decide how to best honor all fathers with one video, enjoy this roundup of Father’s Day videos, including a video from a Utah dad, a video of a classic dad instincts at a ballpark, and a couple videos that may require tissues.

Happy Father’s Day!

"Perfectly Imperfect Fathers"

Dad’s are people too. They’re flawed like the rest of us, but sometimes it’s those imperfections that truly make dads endearing. This video is from Utah dad Alan Lawrence, who brought us the amazing photo campaign starring his son with Down syndrome as well as this hysterical Elf on the Shelf series. This time, Lawrence himself is the star as a charmingly imperfect dad.

Dog Dad's Day

It’s time we answer the age-old question: What makes a man a man? The answer may surprise you, meaning this video is silly and ridiculous and really doesn't answer that question because it's not really a good question to begin with in this author's opinion. Let’s just say this video from BarkPost doesn’t really have anything to do with men who are dads of actual human children, but it’s a cheesy and enjoyable way to spend 56 seconds of your day, especially if you like dogs.

"Go Ask Dad"

According to this video from razor company Gillette, over 90 percent of teens search the Internet to learn basic life skills before they ask their dad. In this sweet video, they asked teens from around the word to first try learning a skill through the Internet, then ask their dad to teach them the same skill. Warning: You may feel the urge to call your dad and thank him for teaching you things you didn’t realize he taught you.

"My Dad My Hero"

I can’t remember having Career Day at my grade school, but based on this video I know they exist. I would’ve loved to have shown off my dad at school, but I’ll have to do with this parenthetical shout-out. (Hi Dad, I love you and Happy Father’s Day!) This video from Kleenex takes a twist on the traditional Career Day and asked kids to write letters to their dads. Each kid reads the letter to the class, outlining why his or her dad is a great dad. Grab your tissues, because Kleenex sure knows how to get you to use their products.

"Fan grabs foul ball while holding his child"

===========================================================================================

Just behind the ubiquitous stereotype that all dads tell really bad “dad jokes” is the idea of “dad instincts.” You’ve seen the videos of dads staying calm as they catch kids falling off couches, falling out of swings and cruising down hills with disastrous trajectories. This video from the ballpark has a similar calm-dad-does-something-awesome-and-kids-aren’t-hurt vibe. Basically, this dad catches a fly ball at a Major League Baseball game without leaving his seat or disturbing the toddler resting in his lap. Keep calm and be a dad.

"Wayne Gretzky Father's Day"

Last but not least, hockey great Wayne Gretzky gives a heartwarming tribute to his dad and all dads who camp out on the sidelines to support and uplift their kids both in sports and throughout life. It’s a must-see minute for all the dads who show up and participate. You da real MVPs, dads.
