IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY — After St. Patrick’s Day, there’s a lull in holiday festivities. There’s no tree to put up, no trick-or-treating to be had, and no wrapped gifts unless you have an impending birthday. Really, until July Fourth rolls around, there’s not much to look forward to.
Luckily for us, someone made a quasi-official "Star Wars" day to honor the George Lucas-helmed universe that has rocked this planet since the first movie was released in 1977.
May the Fourth — which, we guess, sounds like a lispy version of the iconic line, “May the force be with you” — has become the designated date for all Wookies, droids and Jedis alike to bask in a nerdy glow reminiscent of a recently exploded Alderaan.
